(1) Classified by purpose

Prestressed steel strand, galvanized steel strand (for electric power) and stainless steel strand. Among them, prestressed steel strand coated with anti-corrosion grease or paraffin and HDPE is called unbonded steel strand. Prestressed steel strand is also made of galvanized steel or galvanized aluminum alloy steel wire.

(2) Classification according to material properties

Stranded steel wire, aluminum clad steel wire and stainless steel wire.

(3) Classification according to structure

According to the number of steel wires, the prestressed strand can be divided into 7 wires, 2 wires, 3 wires and 19 wires, and the most commonly used is the 7 wire structure.

Galvanized steel strand and aluminum-clad steel strand for electric power are also divided into 2, 3, 7, 19, 37 and other structures according to the number of steel wires, and the most commonly used is 7 wire structure.

(4) Classification according to surface coating layer

Can be divided into (smooth) strand, galvanized strand, coated epoxy strand, aluminum-clad strand, copper-plated strand, plastic strand and so on.
